"The future depends on what we do in the present"

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

I am writing you to let you know I am running for the Ann Arbor City Council as an independent candidate.

I am a long-time Ann Arbor resident and member of Arrowwood Hills Co-Op for 20 years. I am alumni from Washtenaw Community College with Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design Technology fields, also senior at Siena Heights University, Bachelor of Applied Science. I am former Precinct Delegate Ann Arbor City 1st Ward Precinct 10. I have been serving on the board of directors of the Bonisteel Masonic Library, as well. I am knowledgeable and passionate about the City of Ann Arbor.

My political progressive view will be an independent voice on Ann Arbor City Council. I support these five core values.

1. Fiscal Responsibility by City Counsel members
2. Transparency and truth in Government
3. Expanded support of Affordable Housing and Day Care
4. Solutions for fixing the homeless problem in Ann Arbor
5. Multi-Culturalism - Economic, Ethnic & Cultural Diversity

I believe that no one should experience poverty or have to go without health coverage.
I oppose efforts by the government to intrude in the most personal decisions such as reproductive choice and right to die.

We must fund education with accountability if we are to develop the citizens and leaders of future that will keep America strong. I believe that honesty, compassion, love, trust, and knowledge are core values.

I am the action candidate; I bring a new perspective to the Ann Arbor City City Council. I am not afraid to take a stand and I am not afraid to change my mind. When elected, I will be the action councilman.

Please pass the word! That Mitchell Ozog is running for Ann Arbor City Council 1st Ward.

If you seek an independent, hard working, original, and creative individual to represent you. I want to be your representative.

The one reaction on TV debate.

"I was pleasantly surprised at Mitchell Ozog’s fine performance. His courageous background as a Solidarity activist in his native land of Poland certainly gives him credibility as a candidate committed to the citizens of Ann Arbor. I am unaware of the support he has in the First Ward to get elected but he seems to be someone with a sincere commitment to the Ann Arbor community. Win or lose, I would welcome Mr. Ozog’s input in future political activities in Ann Arbor."  source: http://arborupdate.com

While a hundred people in Washtenaw County are looking for a place to pitch a tent, lay down some cardboard, and many more are living in their cars, abandoned homes or dumpsters; our “community leaders” go to bed with a good conscience for having fought off “boobus americanus” Comment by Lou Glorie on a2politico.com
